Dear Mr. Regan:
- J CI>g y t<l CTl C/1 Thank you for your response to my letter concerning the Susquehanna Steam and Electric Station in our area.
I will look forward. to meeting with your representa-tives during their viewing of the local plant in October.
I would appreciate a definite date and time for this meet-ing so I can arrange my schedule to fit the circumstances.
Since my last letter it has come to my attention that
- PPEcL, owners of the Susquehanna Steam and Electric Station, has been granted pprmission to store the spent, fuel from the plant on the site for 30 years. I would first like to know if this information is correct.
Secondly, if this is correct I think anything of this magnitude with such an effect on the people in this area should not be taken so lightly. The people in this area should have a voice in such a decision. I for one do not want this type of thing in my back yard. Recent news releases have confirmed. how "safe" storage of dangerous materials has been in the past.
Very truly yours, Mrs. Stanley Shortz
