RESPONSE TO"FREEDOM OF 1 2019-000346 1 11 INFORMATION ACT (FOIA) REQUEST RE~~~SE D INTERIM I./ I FINAL PART 1.D -- COMMENTS This final response also acknowledges receipt of your FOIA request, as described above.
In processing FOIA requests, all NRC HQ program and regional offices have a FOIA coordinatorthat is responsible for .
tasking the appropriate subject matter experts (SME) within their respective offices to search for, and provide disclosure recommendations about, records responsive to a request. Those records are then compiled by the FOIA coordinator and delivered to the FOIA staff for processing and the preparation of the agency's response. It is not the normal practice of the
- FOIA staff to speak directly to SMEs about requests unless deemed necessary (for example, to obtain clarity of what is being requested, to understand the search that was undertaken or to further discuss the disclosure treatment of the records provided. With respect to the requests that you have submitted to date, there are no records reflecting communications with either Mr. Morris or Ms. Howell; in fact, none of the current FOIA staff assigned to your requests have spoken with either of them.
