(Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19149A296) for SECY-18-0049, "Management Directive and Handbook 8.4, 'Management of Backfitting, Issue Finality, and Information Collection"' (ADAMS Accession No. ML18072A150).
In Enclosure 1 to the SRM, Management Directive 8.4 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19149A308),
in section 111.D.8., the Commission delegated to the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) the responsibility to "[m]aintain[ ] a backfitting/forward fitting Community of Practice with office POCs, including a backfitting/forward fitting site." The Commission's policies contained in the SRM went into effect on May 29, 2019. to the SRM identified your office or region as having responsibilities for backfitting and, in some cases, forward fitting. Therefore, your office or region should be represented in the Community of Practice. OGC requests that each office and region provide the names of two people to represent their respective office or region in the Community of Practice. OGC recognizes that a Community of Practice existed before May 29, 2019. Therefore, to ensure the continuity of the Community of Practice, OGC intends to work with the Community of Practice members to develop a charter to establish the roles and responsibilities of each member and the processes and procedures by which the Community of Practice will function.
