U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION ACTIONS IN RESPONSE TO THE JUNE 10, 2019, TELECONFERENCE MEETING OF THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON THE MEDICAL USES OF ISOTOPES Below are the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs actions in response to the recommendations from the June 10, 2019, teleconference meeting of the Advisory Committee on the Medical Uses of Isotopes (ACMUI or Committee).
ITEM (1): The Committee endorsed the proposed amendments to the ACMUI Bylaws, as discussed and approved at the April 3-4, 2019, ACMUI meeting.
The recommendation passed unanimously with eleven votes and one abstention. The NRC staff will incorporate the agreed upon amendments into the ACMUI Bylaws.
ITEM (2): The Committee endorsed the draft proposed Regulatory Guide 8.39, Release of Patients Administered Radioactive Material, Revision 1 (Phase 1), Subcommittee report and the recommendations therein.
The recommendation passed unanimously with twelve votes. The recommendations proposed by the Subcommittee were provided to the appropriate NRC staff for consideration for inclusion in the draft Regulatory Guide 8.39 that will be published in the Federal Register for public comment.
