NUSCALE POWER, LLC, DESIGN CERTIFICATION APPLICATION - SAFETY EVALUATION WITH NO OPEN ITEMS FOR CHAPTER 15, TRANSIENT AND ACCIDENT ANALYSES
Dear Mr. Rad:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is preparing a safety evaluation (SE) with no open items (OIs) for each chapter of the NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) Design Certification Application submitted by NuScale on January 6, 20171.
The NRC staffs SE with no OIs for Chapter 15, Transient and Accident Analyses, is being provided to the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) Subcommittee to support an upcoming meeting of the ACRS Subcommittee, scheduled to be held February 5-7, 2020.
The NRC staff provided the enclosed SE with no OIs to NuScale for review of proprietary information pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Section 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding. All proprietary and export control information has been redacted from the enclosure, which will be made available for public viewing through the Publicly Available Records component of NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System and placed on the NRCs public Web page for this application.
