The Commission was briefed by an external panel and a staff panel on efforts to conduct research in support of regulatory needs in nuclear safety. The external panel included Dr.
Jeremy Busby, Director, Reactor & Nuclear Systems Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory; Neil Wilmshurst, Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer, Electric Power Research Institute; Dr.
Jennifer Uhle, Vice President of Operations, Nuclear Energy Institute; and Dr. Todd Allen, Chair and Professor, University of Michigan, Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences.
There were no requirements identified for staff action.
