OF CLOSED MEETINGS HELD ON MAY 22, 2019, FOR THE U. S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THREE OPTIONS FOR RESTRUCTURING GLOBAL LASER ENRICHMENT, LLC On May 22, 2019, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed meeting with representatives from Global Laser Enrichment, LLC (GLE); SILEX Systems Limited (SILEX) and Cameco Enrichment Holdings, LLC (Cameco) to discuss GLEs proposed restructuring. The NRC staff provided a slide presentation regarding options for restructuring GLE, which included the major milestones in the review process, the projected timelines, and the regulatory challenges. SILEX and Cameco provided a status update on efforts to extend the contract to purchase tails from the U.S. Department of Energy.
The meeting participants are included in Enclosure 1, a more detailed description of the meeting is provided in the non-public Enclosure 2, and the NRC staff slides are provided in the non-public Enclosure 3.
