SUMMARY
- LICENSEE PERFORMANCE REVIEW FOR GLOBAL NUCLEAR FUEL - AMERICAS, DOCKET NUMBER 70-1113
Dear Mr. Beard:
This letter refers to our meeting, conducted at the Courtyard by Marriott Wilmington Downtown/Historic District in Wilmington, NC on May 2, 2019, during which we discussed the Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) evaluation of your performance in the four major areas of Safety Operations, Radiological Controls, Facility Support, and Other Areas. Overall, the staff determined that Global Nuclear Fuel - Americas (GNF-A) has continued to conduct activities safely and securely, and in a manner that protects public health and the environment. Based on our review of activities, no areas needing improvement were identified within these areas. The meeting was beneficial and provided the NRC the opportunity to discuss your facilitys performance during the last assessment period. The meeting also afforded you the opportunity to provide feedback to the NRC regarding your perception of the NRC performance review.
In addition, the meeting afforded the members of the public the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the NRC regarding our inspection program for the Global Nuclear Fuel-Americas facility. The list of meeting attendees is enclosed. The NRC slide presentation from the meeting is available under accession number ML19142A213 in the Agency-wide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS).
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system, ADAMS.
