SUMMARY
OF PUBLIC MEETING DISCUSSION OF THE UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFFS IMPLEMENTATION OF ITS ENHANCED PROCESS FOR ONGOING ASSESSMENT OF NATURAL HAZARD INFORMATION (POANHI)
On April 29, 2019, the staff from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a Category 2 public meeting at One White Flint North and via teleconference to discuss the NRC staffs implementation of the Process for Ongoing Assessment of Natural Hazard Information (POANHI). Additional information regarding the ongoing assessment of natural hazard information can be found in Enclosure 2 to SECY-16-0144, Proposed Resolution of Remaining Fukushima Tier 2 and 3 Recommendations (Agencywide Document Access Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML16286A586). The meeting participants included representatives from the Department of Energy (DOE), Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB), and other stakeholders.
BACKGROUND The meeting started with brief introductions and identification of the callers, and an NRC overview of the meeting purpose and how the meeting discussion would be documented.
Patricia Vokoun, NRC, greeted telecom attendees, introduced the objective of the meeting, went over some administrative items, and then had attendees introduce themselves and their affiliations.

The staff discussion followed. All items discussed were related to the NRCs POANHI implementation.
After this discussion, the public was given the opportunity to comment and ask questions. No comments were offered.
