ISSUE Licensee Comment 5/16/19 1

UIN Insufficient description 719 The UIN for Vogtle Unit 3 and 4 ITAAC index no. 719 does not provide a clear description of the methodology for performing parts ii and iii of this multifaceted ITAAC. When using references not available to the public a sufficient description must be provided so the reader understands what actions were taken and how they were performed. In the case at hand it is not clear what the calculated and measured flow rates refer to and how they were obtained.

5/16/19 2

UIN Check valve exercising 117 Staff would like to better understand the approach taken for this ITAAC. It is not clear to the staff if the check valves are demonstrated to cycle in both their open and close directions prior to verifying the check valve accomplished its safety function under preoperational test conditions.

Description of how the preoperational testing is established was included for UINs #301 and #375.
