Revised Response to Request for Additional Information Question 1b Related to Request for Exemption from Operator Written Examination and Operating Test Ladies and Gentlemen:*
On December 20, 2018, Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. (SNC) submitted letter ND-18-1126, Request for Exemption from Operator Written Examination and Operating Test, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Units 3 and 4 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Acces~ion No.
ML19030A226). By email dated February 13, 2019, the NRC staff issued a request for additional information (RAI) (ADAMS Accession No. ML19044A780). The RAI contained two RAI questions; the first question consisted of three parts. By letter dated March 4th, 2019, SNC provided a response to the RAI (ADAMS Accession No. ML190638575). Subsequently, based on a teleconference call with the NRC arid additional follow-up by SNC, the need to revise the response to RAI Question 1 b, was identified. The revised response to RAI Question 1 b is provided in Enclosure 1 to this letter. The information provided in the enclosure does not alter the scope or conclusions of the original submittal.
One licensed operator candidate identified in the request for exemption has since left SNC.
Therefore, the list of licensed operator candidates requesting transfer of their pass letters, from Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Unit 2 to Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Unit 3, is resubmitted in Enclosure 2. The enclosure contains personally identifiable information; accordingly, SNC requests that Enclosure 2 be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 1 O CFR 2.390.
