The Ccmnittee's objectives and the duties are prescribed by statute.

Act of 1954, as amended, provides:

The provisions of Section 163 shall be applicable to the Committee.

Section 6 of Public Law 95-:-209 added the ACP.S Fellowship Program providing that:

"To assist the ACRS :in canying out its fur1ction, the carrnittee shall establish a fellowship progrc::n u.i.'1der which persons having appropriate engi.Deeri.rig or scier1ti-f ic expo..rtise are assigned p....rticular tasks relating to the functions of the corrmittee.

The Advisory Corrmittee on rteactor Safeguards is a continuting ccmmittee, as provided in the Ato:-:u.c Energ-y Act of 1954, as amo--ided (see Item 2, arove).
