Re: FW: [EXTERNAL] Re: FW: Groundwater Area of Concern Program Jeff Thanks for the information. I have passed it along to my colleague, Tom Lancaster, who is the new Green River Project Manager at NRC. I have placed him on cc: so you have his email address for future communications.

Thanks, Chris On: 16 April 2019 22:53, "Price, Jeffrey (CONTR)" <Jeffrey.Price@lm.doe.gov> wrote:

Hi Chris, Just wanted to pass along this email string regarding the conversation I have been having with James Greer (Assistant Utah State Engineer) about their Area of Concern program. I thought this information would be useful as you review LMs response to your RAI.

We had a good day at the Green River site last month for the annual site inspection. The site looks just about the same as when you were there, and we did go to Rays Tavern for a burger and fries. Hope you are well. Jeff.

[EXTERNAL] Re: FW: Groundwater Area of Concern Program

Jeff, Here is the website I said we would add to the Division's website that describes the area of concern program.

https://www.waterrights.utah.gov/wrinfo/policy/areaofconcern.asp If you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks, James Greer On Wed, Mar 6, 2019 at 4:53 PM Price, Jeffrey (CONTR) <Jeffrey.Price@lm.doe.gov> wrote:

Hi James, Thanks again for your time today, I thought it was a productive discussion. I had an idea that might be useful for a prospective well permit applicant filing for a permit within an AOC. If someone were to click on the polygon, a brief description of the who, what, when, where, why, and how might be enough to prevent a filing. Jeff.

Here is an updated link that show all of the areas of concern. On the map the layer is called Restricted because it includes some other polygons as well that are not just areas of Concern.

Groundwater Area of Concern Program Hi James, In about 2011, the Department of Energy entered into the State of Utahs groundwater Area of Concern (AOC)

Program as an institutional control (IC) measure to restrict access to contaminated groundwater resulting from the 1960ish milling of uranium ore at the Green River Utah site. The AOC is discussed in our draft Groundwater Compliance Action Plan [(GCAP) approved by the Utah Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control in 2011]. I recently talked with Marc Stilson about the AOC and he referred me to you. Im wondering if you would be available for a phone call to help me gain a better understanding the AOC program? Thank you. Jeff.
