Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the draft regulatory basis (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML18262A185) for the proposed rulemaking on regulatory improvements for harmonization of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 71. The NRC staff published the draft regulatory basis for comment on April 12, 2019 (Federal Register / Vol. 84, No. 71 / Friday, April 12, 2019; pp 14898).

Specifically, the objective of this meeting is to discuss revisions to transportation safety requirements and harmonization with International Atomic Energy Agency transportation requirements, and to enhance external stakeholders understanding of the draft regulatory basis to inform development of comment submissions.

Participants:

NRC/NMSS/DSFM External Participants 10 CFR Part 71 Stakeholders Rulemaking Working Group Meeting Category: 1 This is a Category 3 meeting. During this meeting, the NRC staff will provide presentations on the draft regulatory basis. Members of the public are also encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback during this meeting. However, the NRC is not taking formal comments at this meeting. All comments must be submitted in writing in accordance with the instructions listed in the Federal Register notice.
