Wednesday, April 10, 2019 3:07:00 PM The investigation into the differences in the shipper measurements and the receiver measurements concluded that the shipper measurements were inaccurate because the material shipped from Kazakhstan had impurities which made it difficult to get an accurate measurement of uranium content. When the material was received at the BWXT facility in Lynchburg, the impurities were removed and a more accurate measurement of the uranium was made. This issue is common and continues from time to time even today. It is difficult to get an accurate measurement of uranium content in material with impurities.
