Dear Ms. Leek:
Please recall that in 2014 we provided a briefing at your office to discuss the coordination between the State of Iowa and the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to maintain important programs that protect the citizens of Iowa from risks posed from radioactive materials in the State. This meeting included key NRC and State of Iowa government counterparts, including you, your management, and your key partners in supporting radiation protection activities within State government (see the attached 2014 participant list and 2014 agenda). As you know, the briefing agenda for this meeting is interactive and includes ample time for dialog to ensure that all health and safety issues important to both the NRC and State of Iowa are addressed. We would like to extend our offer to conduct a similar briefing in the third quarter of the calendar year 2019.
