Dear Mr. Rusche:

In response to your letter of February 10, 1976, we are very much aware of the impending lack of fuel storage capability at our Surry Power Station. Presently, .we are studying the feasibility of increasing storage capacity before it becomes an operational problem. By increasing our storage capability, we would be able to maintain our regularly scheduled Inservice Inspection program, which we understand can not be advanced in accordance with Code requirements. (ASME Code Section XI "Inservice Inspection of Nuclear Reactor.Coolant Systems" para IS-242)

If you have additional questions, please contact us.

Yours very truly, t;. }J?. ~e~/-i 1Y C. M. Stallings Vice President - Power Supply and Production Operations 3873
