50-281 DPR-32 DPR-37 In our letter of May 10, 1976, Serial No. 533, we advised you of our schedule for the installation of J-tubes in the steam generators at the Surry Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2. This letter will serve to update you in regard to the status of the J-tube installation.
The installation of J-tubes in the Unit No. 2 steam generators is complete. Two (2) steam generators have been completed in Unit No.
1, with one steam generator remaining to be modified. Because of certain changes in the outage schedule necessitated by other steam generator concerns, the original schedule was modified. We plan to install the J-tubes on the remaining Unit No. 1 steam generators at the next outage of sufficient duration to complete the work. At the latest this would occur during the next scheduled refueling outage. Until the modification is completed on Unit No. 1, we will institute administrative procedures governing the auxiliary feedwater addition rate.
