VEPCO'S ANSWER TO THE C01'1MONWEALTH 1S MOTION FOR FURTHER EXTENSION OF TIME

1.

On January 30, 1978, the Commonwealth of Virginia filed a "Motion for Further Extension of Time."

The motion requests that the Commonwealth be given until 10 days after the NRC Staff issues its Safety Evaluation to file a petition to intervene and a request for hearing.

2.

Virginia Electric and Power Company has no objection to the Commonwealth's motion.

However, Vepco wishes to reserve the right to oppose any future requests for extensions of time, either by the Commonwealth or by others.

Vepco also wishes to reserve the right to oppose petitions for leave to intervene and requests for a hearing.
