Dear Ms. Helton:

On behalf of its members (hereinafter referred to as industry), the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI)1 submits Addendum 7 to NEI 08-09, Evaluating and Documenting Use of Alternative Cyber Security Controls/Countermeasures, Revision 6 for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRC) review and endorsement.

Lessons learned from licensees cybersecurity program implementation and NRC program inspections conducted during 2017 and 2018 necessitated clarifications to NEI 08-09, Addendum 7 to enhance clarity and consistency in implementation and support continued NRC oversight activities.

NEI requests that the NRC review and endorse Addendum 7 to NEI 08-09, Revision 6 by January 31, 2019.

If any revisions to this document are desired, please include suggested wording and technical data to support the proposed change(s).
