OPERATING LICENSE UNIT 1 SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-272 We hereby submit notification that construction of Unit 1, Salem Nuclear Generating Station has been completed in accordance with the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, the regulations promulgated thereunder and Construction Permit CPPR-52.
Inasmuch as construction has been completed, we request the issuance of a full-term operating license for Salem 1 in order that we may proceed inunediately with initial core loading.
In view of the lower cost electricity which can be generated by Salem 1, we believe it is essential that this Unit be placed in operation inunediately.
Each day of full-load operation will result in a $430,000 savings to the customers of the four utilities jointly owning the Salem Station.
