CHANGE IN FUEL DESIGN NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS DOCKET NOS. 50-272 April 13, 1973 In view of the current emergency core cooling and fuel densification issues, we have evaluated the schedule and cost effects associated with changing to the 17 x 17 fuel design for the Salem units.
We have elected to utilize the Westinghouse 17 x 17 fuel design for the initial cores of Salem Units 1 and 2.
The new fuel load dates are estimated to be January, 1975 for Unit 1 and October, 1975 for Unit 2.
