SPILLS AT SALEH I & II NUCLEAR GENERATING FACILITY
-I realize a great many problems plagu:e the Atomic Industry at the present time.
I am deeply concerned about all of them.
Since start-up of Salem I at the end of 1976 several incidents have been found out by the public.
I an sure the public is not being told all it should know about what's going 011 down there; but be that as it may r:iost of the tirn.e the information leaks.
For this we are a.lli.N.ost grateful.
Ea.ch.--tir.1e there is an incident we are (as expected) assured there is no danger and that what has happened is a normal occu1... rance.
There is one thing I find we are not told.
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THE CONTAMINANT IS.
I would appreciate knowing exactly what the different co11taMi11ants that have escaped (at J.oast the ones we found out about) arc and precisely how much of each of the coIDtaminants was.
I am not interested in total amounts of water that contained contaminants.
I am interested in the co~taminant itself.
Very truly yours,
&~Lt~d~
Eleanor G. 8oleman

Eleanor&. A I Coleman 35 'K' Drive Pennsville, N. J. 08070 609-678-71 2 5 rrHIS PROBLEM IS NOT UNIQUE IN OTHER COUNTRIES - THIS APPLIES TO THE UNITED STATES I~ - and I mean a big If -
all 6ther thin~s were going well with this industry - such as was not polluting air with radiation, or not overburdening utility consumers with higher bills than they could pay, etc. - THERE WOULD STILL BE THIS HORRIBLE WASTE PROBLEM WHICH I AM AT THIS POINT CONVINCED WILL NEVER BE_ SOLVEDQ I feel NUCLEAR FACILITIES ON LINE ALREADY PRODUCING ENERGY SHOULD BE PHASED OUT THOSE NOT YET ON LINE SHOULD BE STOPPED.
Yes, jobs are very much a problem especially here in South Jersey but these people have technical expertise that can certainly be put to. use. in other w11r1.ys that will be more useful to society and certainly not as destructful.
