RE: Your question on the government shutdown Hello Zachary; This is a response to the email you sent to the Department of Energy. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission, which inspects and otherwise regulates U.S. commercial nuclear power plants, received full funding for fiscal year 2019 before the shutdown occurred and continued its full range of activities during the shutdown. Private utilities operate U.S. nuclear power plants, and the plants continued normal activities during the shutdown.
