APPENDIX I TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 C-)

On August 1, 1978, you wrote to PSE&G requesting that we submit the proposed Appendix I Technical Specifications for Salem Unit No. 2 utilizing guidance enclosed in your letter within sixty days.

Previously, on July 11, 1978, the Assistapt Director for Engineering and Projects of the Division of Operating Reactors wrote a similar letter requesting that we submit proposed Appendix I Technical Specifications for Salem Unit No. 1.

We were requested to respond within 180 days of the July 11, 1978 date.

In as much as Salem 1 and Salem 2 are located on the same site and are essentially duplicates of each other, we propose that a common submittal be made by PSE&G to comply with both requests from NRC.

We propose that the 180 day schedule established for Salem Unit No. 1 should be the basis of our combined submittal.
