[External_Sender] Reject the WCS License Application to Store Nuclear Waste in West Texas for 40 Years
Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission,
I am asking you, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to deny the Waste Control Specialists (WCS') license application to store 40,000 tons of irradiated reactive fuel rods in West Texas for 40 years. This would be a dangerous proposal for the health and safety of people in all of the cities around the country in which the dangerous material would pass through by train or truck. There is widespread opposition to this proposal. The Midland City Council has already voted unanimously to oppose approval of the license. Other cities in Texas have also opposed the proposal, and over 20,000 people have voiced their opposition in comments to your office. Please listen to all of us and reject WCS license application for this proposal. Thank you for your serious consideration of the dangers of this proposal.
