Dear,
To Whom It May Concern There are many reasons that the transportation of illegal and highly unsafe and this proposal must be denied. Nuclear waste try likely will outlive the integrity of the casks it is in. In endangers land, water and all forms of life that are near them.
Of great concern is the danger to the many communities and the fresh water in the very probable event of any kind of accident on a train, truck or boat transporting the nuclear waste. There is way to guarantee safety, and hazards from a spill would impact huge numbers of people, plants and animals and poses the possibility of making precious freshwater unusable.
Public meetings should be held in communities along all the potential routes, especially inTexas, where the storage is planned, in Spanish as as well English. The comment period should be extended to 180 days. Opportunity for public comment is a mandated requirement of the NRC.
