BORON CONCENTRATION -

LONG-TERM COOLING In our letter of August 2.7, 1975, we indicated that we would advi*se you, on a bimonthly basis, of the status of our program to prevent unacceptable chemical concentrations during the long term after a LOCA.

This program involve~ the qualification of equipment required to provide independent flow paths to the reactor vessel.

As indicated in previous bimonthly reports, most of the items are complete or will be completed during the next Palisades Plant refueling outage.

Therefore, it is no longer necessary to provide bimonthly status reports.

Consumers Power will provide a final report following the next refueling outage to document all modifications made to provide final resolution of long-term cooling require-ments following a LOCA.
