• Area Code 517 788-0550 March 23, 1978 Mr James G Keppler Office of Inspection and Enforcement Region III US Nuclear Regulatory Coomission 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT - CANCELLATION OF EVENT REPORT Telephone and TWX reports to the NRC Region III IE office on February 23 and 24, 1978 identified a potential 14-day reportable occurrence at the Palisades Plant.

Subsequent evaluation has resulted in the determination that the inventory of water in the SIRW tank was sufficient to consider the tank as a*valid source of borated water.

In addition, the valves between the SIRW tank and the primary coolant system were verified to be in the proper positions to permit remote initiation of boric acid flow to the reactor.

Accordingly, this event report is being canceled.
