Docket 50-255 License DPR;..20 Palisades Plant Your January 3, 1975 letter requested that we inform you of our intentions with respect to a request for additional information and questions on the postulated cask drop accident.
We have contacted our architect-engineers and expect to obtain a response from them on your requests numbered 1 through 4 by February 15, 1975.
We, however, estimate that *an additional two weeks will be required to formulate a reply and obtain the necessary reviews from the Plant Review Committee and Safety and Audit Review Board.
We expect to be able to reply by March 3, 1975.
With respect to your request that we do not engage in cask handling operations with the reactor in operation, we will temporar-ily abide by your request as it relates to cask handling operations over the spent f'uel pool although we believe that the use of a 100-ton rated crane to handle a 25-ton cask provides an adequate margin of safety. If we should find it necessary to han_dle a cask over the spent fuel pool while the reactor is in operation, we will in-form you of our intentions prior to any such operation.
