PUBLIC SUBMISSION As of: 11/20/18 10:24 AM Received: November 19, 2018 Status: Pending_Post Tracking No. 1k2-96n8-fsfq Comments Due: November 19, 2018 Submission Type: Web Docket: NRC-2016-0231 Waste Control Specialists LLC's Consolidated Interim Spent Fuel Storage Facility Project Comment On: NRC-2016-0231-0220 Interim Storage Partners LLCs Consolidated Interim Storage Facility Document: NRC-2016-0231-DRAFT-0292 Comment on FR Doc # 2018-22810 Submitter Information Name: Anonymous Anonymous General Comment To Whom It May Concern:

Please halt the proposal by Waste Control Specialists (WCS) to transport 40,000 tons of toxic waste -- from nuclear reactors across the U.S. -- through our communities to Andrews County, Texas, where it will be stored for 40+ years.

The nuclear waste is to be hauled by rail near homes, schools and businesses.

If allowed to go forward, the plan also would:

undermine federal efforts to develop a new, less risky approach to radioactive waste storage and disposal; remove incentives to find a permanent solution to our nuclear waste crisis, putting Texas at risk of becoming an unsafe de facto dump site for the country; saddle millions of people living in the U.S. with the financial and health risks associated with transporting nuclear waste.

Also, WCSs Environmental Report does not specify transport routes, potential contamination of natural bodies of water or impacts of Acts of God on the storage infrastructure.

Additionally, WCS doesnt provide an emergency action plan.

Furthermore, the NRC has not given the public the ability to speak on WCSs revised application.

Please reject this proposal once and for all. Also, please extend public intervention and public comment deadlines by 180+ days -- and -- hold meetings in communities which would be impacted by this proposal.

Thank you for your consideration on this matter.
