  • 1 RESPONSE TO FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA)' REQUEST 1 RESPONSE.o TYPE INTERIM I./ I FINAL PART I.D - COMMENTS
  • The FOIA contains twelve.subsections, 'the first two of which establish certain categories of information that must "automatically" be disclosed by federal agencies. Subsection (a)(1) of the FOIA requires disclosure through publication in the Federal Register of general agency information such as descriptions of agency organization, functions, rules of
  • procedure; substantive agency rules; and statements of general agency policy. Subsection (a)(2) of the FOIA requires, in relevant part, that certain other types of records -- final agency opinions and orders rendered in the adjudication of cases, specific policy statements, certain ~drninisir~~ive staff manuals and instructions to staff - be made avaBa~le t_o the public in*.

physical and electronic "reading rooms." Subsection (a)(3) of the FOIA provides that records not made available to the public under subsections (a)(1) or (a){2) can be requested by the public.

Because the NRC has made its directives, procedures, and policies concerning the Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act available to the public, they are not records that you may request under subsection (a)(3). As a one-time courtesy, we are providing you with the links to the NRC webpages sites where the aforementioned records can be found:
