This is a periodic update regarding your petition dated January 15, 2015. The petition requested that the NRC modify its regulations in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.69, Risk-Informed Categorization and Treatment of Structures, Systems, and Components for Nuclear Power Reactors, to expand its applicability to allow the licensees under 10 CFR Part 52, Licenses, Certifications, and Approvals for Nuclear Power Plants, licensees to implement the provisions of 10 CFR 50.69. This status update fulfills the guidance in Management Directive 8.11, Review Process for 10 CFR 2.206 petitions for periodic status updates.
