DESIGNATION OF THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSIONS FEDERAL PRESERVATION OFFICER
Dear Mr. Nelson:
This letter is to inform you that, in accordance with Section 110(c) of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), 54 U.S.C. Section 306104, I have designated Mr. Joseph E. Donoghue, Deputy Director of the Division of Materials and License Renewal in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), as the agencys Federal Preservation Officer. Mr. Donoghue also serves as the Chair of the NRCs National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Executive Steering Committee, which consists of senior-level management responsible for carrying out the agencys NEPA and NHPA obligations in accordance with NRCs statutory authority. The purpose of the steering committee is to identify and discuss agencywide NEPA and NHPA matters to ensure consistency among implementing offices at the NRC.
