The NRC is Seeking Input on its Evaluation of Training and Experience for Authorized Users TrainingandExperienceRequirements TheNRCstrainingandexperience(T&E)requirementsinSubpartEof Title10oftheCodeofFederalRegulationsPart35providethreeways thataphysiciancanbeauthorizedtoadministerunsealedbyproduct materialsorradiopharmaceuticalsrequiringawrittendirective:
1)Aphysiciancanbecertifiedbyamedicalspecialtyboard,whose certificationprocessisrecognizedbytheNRCoranAgreementState.
2)Aphysiciancancompleteastructurededucationalprogramand supervisedworkexperienceunderanalternatepathway.Therequired 700hoursbreaksdowntoaminimumof200hoursofclassroomand laboratorytraining,and500hoursofsupervisedworkexperience.
3)Aphysiciancanbeauthorizedifpreviouslyidentifiedasan authorizeduseronanNRCorAgreementStatelicenseorpermit (i.e.,grandfathered).
TheNRCisEvaluatingthe AlternatePathwayT&ERequirements TheNRCisdeterminingwhetheritmakes sensetoestablishtailoredT&Erequirements fordifferentcategoriesof radiopharmaceuticals.
