[External_Sender] NRC Docket 72-1050 NRC 2016-0231 I urge NRC to reject this Proposal to consolidate irradiated fuel before there is a permanent repository. I am concerned this will become a de-facto permanent repository, which is not consistent with the letter or intent of federal law. I am also concerned about accidents in the process of shipping and transporting high-level nuclear waste.
It is more prudent to keep waste where it is and to harden these sites against potential natural and man-made hazards.
