D Field Office Inspection D Temporary Job Site Inspection PROGRAM SCOPE The Hematite Decommissioning Project of the Westinghouse Electric Company is a facility currently under decommissioning. As part of the decommissioning process, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is required to perform inspection on various licensee activities. For the inspection that was performed on March 27, 2018, the NRC inspected the licensee's Environmental Monitoring Program.

Observations The inspector toured the environmental monitoring locations, interviewed licensee personnel, reviewed selected licensee's records such as environmental monitoring reports, procedures, and correspondence with the NRC. Since the licensee had submitted their request to the NRC for termination of their license, the inspector also tour the facility to ensure that the licensee no longer had any radioactive materials on site. The inspector performed a telephone exit with the licensee on September 17, 2018. The time between the on site inspection and the telephone exit date was to ensure that the NRC project manager had enough time to review the licensee submitted documentations for license termination and that no further inspection was necessary.

No violations of NRC regulatory requirements were identified.
