Dear Mr. Kennedy:
U.S. Department of Homeland Secnrity FEMA Region 6 800 North Loop 288 Denton, TX. 76209-3698 FEMA Enclosed is a copy of the After Action Report/Improvement Plan for the River Bend Station Exercise evaluated on June 27, 2018.
Based on the evaluation of this exercise by FEMA Region 6 staff and a team of federal evaluators; the State of Louisiana and local governments successfully demonstrated the capability to implement their offsite radiological emergency response plans and procedures.
There were no Level 1 Findings, two Level 2 Findings that were corrected during the exercise, and one Plan Issue identified during the exercise. Also, one previous Level 2 Finding was resolved during the exercise.
Therefore, we find that state and local preparedness is adequate to protect the health and safety of the public living in the vicinity of the River Bend Station and there is reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite in the event of a radiological emergency.
