NRC attendees: Darrell Dunn (Senior Materials Engineer), William (Chris) Allen (Shielding Reviewer), Wendy Reed (Project Manager for Rancho Seco LRA)
A teleconference was held between NRC and SMUD representatives to discuss the ongoing NRC review of the Rancho Seco license renewal application (LRA).
The purpose of the call was: ( 1) for the licensee to provide clarification regarding the information provided in the LRA; (2) for the NRC to ask for tables and data in the LRA to be provided in a more user-friendly format (i.e., Microsoft Excel format).
Aging management and shielding aspects of the LRA were discussed. Information that had not been previously provided to the NRC was identified as being useful to facilitate the NRC review.
Action: SMUD will supplement license renewal application by providing input/output files pertaining to certain proprietary calculations. SMUD will also provide proprietary fabrication drawings containing safety class information and tables in Excel Spreadsheet form.
