Dear Ms. Haney:

\._/

Enclosed is a copy of the final exercise report for the May 15, 2018, partial participation plume phase exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans site-specific to the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. This report, prepared by our Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) staff, addresses the evaluation of the plans and preparedness for the States of Georgia and South Carolina, as well as affected local governments.

Copies of this report will be forwarded to the States of Georgia and South Carolina.

Based on the results of this exercise and our review of radiological emergency planning, training, and equipment provided in the Annual Letters of Certification for 2017, the offsite radiological emergency response preparedness for the States of Georgia and South Carolina, and the affected local jurisdictions site-specific to the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant can be implemented. They are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency at the site.

Title 44 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 350, approval of the offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the states of Georgia and South Carolina will remain in effect.

Should you have any questions, please contact Randall L. Hecht at 770/220-314 7.
