Industry Oversight of SIL Certification Process 4
- NEI 17-06, Section 5 provides a plan for industry to oversee the SIL certification process for effectiveness and consistency in application
- NEI will monitor any proposed changes to IEC 61508 against the EPRI TR 106439 dependability critical characteristics
- NEI will communicate any adverse changes to be fixed in IEC 61508 to the IEC before the revision is published
- If unsuccessful then NEI will inform the NRC and communicate a set of compensating measures to resolve the condition
