Dear Deputy Director Kock:

Power Resources Inc. d/b/a/ Cameco Resources (Cameco) submitted responses to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs request for additional information (RAl's) on November -~-~--18,-2Dl4_,en._vironmental report, ADAMS Accession Number ML 14353A314) and on April 21, 2015 (technical report, ADAMS Accession Number ML I6063A418). NRC staff completed the acceptance review of the RAI responses and informed Cameco on May 2, 2016, by letter, that the staff had determined adequate information was provided on 88 of the outstanding 115 RAI resp9nses. NRC informed Cameco that there were 27 remaining RAI responses that had insufficient information to complete the review. Cameco submitted thirteen of the technical report (TR) RAI responses and two environmental report (ER) responses on March 5, 2018 for NRC's review. "' Included with this correspondence are the 12 outstanding TR RAis related to radiation safety and accompanying information that will be included in the ER but are needed to answer any outstanding TR RAI. Attachment 1 includes: Technical Report

  • Guide to page insertion for the TR
  • Section 5. 0 Operations
  • Section 7. 0 Potential Environmenta{Effects
  • Revised TR Table 5-15 Surface Water Monitoring Historic Review
  • Revised Table 5-16 Domestic and Livestock Wells in SR Groundwater Monitoring Program
  • Revised Table 5-18 Livestock Wells in Groundwater Monitoring Program within 2km of License Boundary Energizing the World ~J1'--{-5>

of µ/V/.5~5

  • -t -* Figure 5. 7 Environmental Sampling Location Map
  • Updated Addendum 1 to Appendix I Attachment 2 includes:

Environmental Report

  • Guide to page insertion for the ER.
  • New Appendix C.1 2012 North Butte Air Particulate Data 2012. The final radiation safety RAI programs will required additional time to implement fully at the Smith Ranch-Highland Uranium Project. Cameco asks NRC to consider issuing license conditions for some of these responses to give Cameco time to fully implement the programs.

Please call me at (307) 358-6541 or email Lawrence_Reimann@cameco.com if you have any questions or need additional clarification. Respectfully, /-"ca=-. L~imann Manager, Compliance & Licensing LR/Ir
