Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission Staff:
I am strongly asking you to REJECT Holtec Internationals application for a Consolidated Interim Storage Facility (CISF) for high level nuclear waste.
Creating such a storage encourages more nuclear production, the costs of which are too great to risk. There simply ISN'T any safe place on the planet to store nuclear waste.
Also, it is illegal in so many ways.
Third, the Trump administration, a disaster of legal costs on us taxpayers, will add more expense to our already fully taxed budgets. We cannot afford this.
Reject and obviously do not rely on the Environmental Report done by Tetra Tech for Holtec. This is not best practice and fraud is encouraged by such processes. I have learned that Tetra Tech has a record and history of falsiifying radiation monitoring data, deliberately spreading radioactive soil and waste to previously clean places on and offsite, using unqualified workers to supervise radioactive scanning and cleanup efforts and suppressing and firing whistleblowers at the Hunters Point. I am not sure of the truths of these allegations, but they are deeply concerning.
For these and so many other reasons, this is a BAD and DANGEROUS idea that would forever be on your shoulders Thank you.
