Julian Tarver DOC 885530 UNITED STA1ES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMM! SSI ON WASHNGTOII, DC 20555 - 0001 August 21, 2018 NRC-2018-000605 Appeal NRC-2018-000352
- Washington State Penitentiary IMU North 1313 N 13th Ave Walla Walla, WA 99362
Dear Mr. Tarver:
On behalf of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I am responding to your letter dated June 12, 2018, in which you appealed the agency's decision related to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request NRC-2018-000352, which was seeking all radiation measurements taken in Japan or within 300 nautical miles of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, during timeframe March 11, 2010 to March 11, 2012 (NRC-2018-000352).
Specifically, you appealed the "full denial of the requested search".
Acting on your appeal, I have reviewed the records for this case and have determined that this case is not appealable. As stated in our response to NRC-2018-000352, the scope of your request, as written, is overly broad and therefore NRC-2018-000352 was administratively closed. Since you stated that you do not agree to pay any fees, and you were denied a fee waiver, you are entitled to 2 hours2.314815e-5 days
5.555556e-4 hours
3.306878e-6 weeks
7.61e-7 months
search time free of charge as well as 100 pages free of charge as a non-excepted requester without incurring any fees.
For this reason, your appeal has been administratively closed.
Sincerely, Stephanie Blaney FOIA Officer Office of Information Services 1
