DFP/cost estimate response to RAI Discussion:
Narvaez stated that he just got back the most recent surveys and costs for decommissioning 12 labs on the main campus, and is using that information to respond to the RAI. The response will be discussed at the Radiation Safety Committee meeting scheduled for this coming Friday, so he believes he can get a letter out, signed by his supervisor, sometime next week.
In response to his question, we also discussed that it is acceptable to leave an instrument in place that exceeds the cost estimate; his expectation is that the cost estimate will be quite reduced due to the recent decommissioning activities.
