[External_Sender] Stop Holtec To Whom it May Concern, I am in complete opposition to transporting nuclear waste across country by rail and then dumping it in New Mexico for eternity. I have absolutely no confidence that there will not be an accident involving this waste product from nuclear reactors. And, I have absolutely no confidence that this waste will ever be removed from New Mexico. What is being billed as 'temporary,' will become permanent.
Just this week on the news we heard that the nuclear fallout from Fukishima has reached the grapes in California's vineyards. This stuff is poison and transporting is idiotic. This stuff will endanger everyone and everything that is near it.
The sites that are producing this waste must store it and then they must be shut down. To engage in using nuclear energy, despite it's low carbon emissions, is silly given the option of clean, renewable energy. To put millions of lives and the environment at risk for the sake of the wealthy getting wealthier is immoral.
Holtec is at it's core a business opportunity creating another middleman that can make some big money.
Stop Holtec.
