3 and 4 Docket Nos.
50-250 and 50-251 Evaluation of the Overall Asymmetric Loss of Coolant Accident Loads FLORIDAPOWER & LIGHTCOMPANY March 10, 1978 L-78-86
'~P/gp, ra~
Igni Gp Florida Power 5 Light Company was requested by your letter dated January 25, 1978 to respond within 30 days indicating our intent to proceed with an evaluation of the overall asymmetric loss of coolant accident loads as described in your letter and the attachments thereto.
This letter is to inform you that a task group of utilities with operating Westinghouse plants has been formed of which Florida Power 5 Light Company is currently a participant.
The purpose of this task group is to examine the complexity and scope of primary system main coolant piping breaks as outlined in your January 25 letter and to identify similarities between Westinghouse plants.
Following Florida Power ( Light Company review and approval of the task group preliminary study, applicable study results and future program recom-mend'ations will be provided to the commission.
Very truly yours, Robert E. Uhrig Vice President REU:WAK:mb cc:
