Dear Mr. Stello:
Re: Turkey Point: Unit 4 Docket: Number 50-251 '
On March 1, 1978, Florida Power 6 Light Company forwarded to you a report of the current steam generator inspection and the preventative plugging program for Turkey Point Unit'4. This report supports the operation of Turkey Point Unit: 4 for in ex-cess of six effective months following t:he inspection. The steam generators will be reinspected during t: he next refueling outage.
Xn accordance with paragraph 3.D of Facility Operating License DPR-41, Florida Power 6 Light Company requests NRC approval to return, Turkey Point Unit 4 to operation. This approval is re-quested by March 7, 1978 so as not to delay the return to power of the Unit.
The Turkey Point Plant Nuclear Safety Committee aTIQ ther Florida
- Power 6 Light Company Nuclear Reviei~ Board have reviewed t:his request. They have concluded that: the operation of Unit 4 for in excess of an additional six effective months will not. endanger the health and safety of the public.
Very truly yours, Robert E. Vhrig Vice President REU:cs cc: Mr. James P. O'Reilly, Region 1X Mr. Robert Lowenstein, Esquire 1
