Dear Mr. Lear:
This letter is to confirm the change to July 28th for submitting our description of the Operational QA Program for the Turkey Point. Nuclear Generating Station, Units 3 and 4 (PTP).
Our original commitment was
'une 28,
- 1975, as stated in my.letter of April 30, 1975 (L-75-208).
In a.telephone conversation on June 12 and 13,
- 1975, between Mr. Fred Liederbach of the QA Branch and Mr. Jack Vessely, FPGL Manager of Quality Assurance, a thirty day extension for the PTP QA Program des-cription was discussed and is consideredacceptable by NRC Licensing Quality Assurance.
The request is based on the result of problems encountered with the Turkey Point Unit 4 refueling outage which has delayed startup approx-imately one month.
As a consequence of the plant's concentrated ef-forts to get Unit 4 on-the-line, plant manpower is not presently avail-able to perform an adequate review of the. draft of the Topical Quality Assurance Report and the description of the PTP Operational QA Program.
The potential impact that could result from submittal of these docu-ments without the plant's detailed review has therefore prevented us from meeting the June 28th submittal.
With the exception of the revised submittal date noted above, the bal-ance of information in my letter of April 30, 1975 remains in accord with our stated plan.
Sincerely, Robert E. Uhrig Vice President I
