Dear Mr. Elliott:

This will confirm our understanding of the telephone conversation of February 14 between you and Mr. Jack DeMastry of my staff.

You may recall that this conversation related to a change in management of the fisheries research center at our Turkey Point Plant.

This research has been in operation for over five years by the University of Miami; specifically, the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at the University.

Recently, because of certain policy changes within the institution, the University of Miami has elected not to continue these operations.

Accordingly, we have arranged with Farm Fresh Shrimp Corporation of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, to conduct research on the large-scale development of macrobrachium juveniles.

This research would involve the building formerly used by the University and would probably in-clude some further experiments in rates of growth in the deadend canals just north of our Turkey Point cooling system We would be pleased to make information available to you on the progress of this work from time to time.
